Steve’s love of man’s best friend began when, aged 12, he was given his first pup, Sooty. This friendship Dog trainer Steve Austin has a team of keen canines who fight against the extinction of our native wildlife.
Leader of the pack Working like a dog. Steve Austin trains his dogs to be used to locate cane toads within national parks, to try and control pests such as these and others, like fox or feral cat. The dogs are trained to recognise the smell of the toads, and then lead handlers to the location of pests so traps or baits may be set.
